As women tend to be caretakers and tend to put others first, I think it’s important for women to learn and take great care of themselves.

Self- care and personal wellness often fall off the list in our busy lives but it is a critical ingredient to our happiness and effectiveness as a person and leader.

I define personal leadership as:

  • ability to see yourself as leader & to lead
  • managing yourself effectively
  • having a direction or vision for your life
  • learning and knowing who you are
  • knowing what you stand for and what you are about
  • who you are as leader
  • how you are as a leader
  • open to learning
  • ability to self-reflect

Becoming a leader ultimately impacts every aspect of your life.

It elevates you by providing a foundation to stand confidently in your strength, wisdom and power. It provides a direction forward for your life.

Being a leader is often viewed as a role but it’s really a mindset and a way of being.

It’s who you are, what you stand for and who you want to become.

Plan for your success

It’s the beginning of the year. Are you planning for your success this year?

What is it that you want to accomplish this year?

Learn

What do you want to learn?

Do

  • What do you want to do this year?
  • What do you need to stop doing?
  • What successful practices or habits from last year do you want to continue this year?
  • What do you want to do that’s new?
  • What new experiences do you want to have?
  • What trips do you want to take?

Be & Feel

  • How do you want to feel this year?
  • How do you want to be this year?
  • What will you need to do, to be and feel the way you want to?
    • Grounding exercises
    • Meditation
    • Make time to reflect
    • Go on a retreat
    • Schedule Massages
    • Schedule Hair appointments
    • Buy some new things for your wardrobe
    • Schedule a coffee date with a friend

Write it down

It’s important to write down your plan of what you want to do.

  • It helps you to remember what to focus on
  • You give it attention
  • Goals without a plan are just a wish

Schedule

If you don’t schedule the time when you are going to do the things you want to do & want to accomplish, they usually don’t get done.
