Everyone has dreams.
You may have put your dreams on a shelf to come back to later. Now is the time to revisit them.
Write a letter to your future self. The person you want to be in 3, 5 or 10 years.
Tell yourself all of your dreams that you have made come true by the time you would read this letter.
- What have you accomplished?
- Who are you being?
- What are you doing?
- What did you learn about yourself?
- What were you wrong about?
- what were you surprised by?
The purpose of doing an exercise like this is to get you to stop and think. Reflect on your life and what you want or wanted for yourself.
It’s not to late to start!
Life is short.
In the book The Top Five Regrets of The Dying by Bonnie Ware, she identified the following:
- I wish I’d had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.
- I wish I hadn’t worked so hard. (I’ll add or worked so much)
- I wish I’d had the courage to express my feelings.
- I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends.
- I wish that I had let myself be happier.
Don’t have the regret that you never did what you wanted to do with your life?
If you’re scared that’s fine.
Don’t let fear stop you from living a life you want to live.
Perfection doesn’t really exist so just do it. Be messy & have fun.
So, Let’s start…
Write the letter as if you have already achieved your dreams. What does your life look like in 10 years and why is it so exciting?
