Be Compassionate With Yourself
It’s hard when we’re tired and feeling overwhelmed to get out of self-doubt and negative self-talk especially when we’re busy moms. Maintaining a home, working or running a business & raising kids is hard. It’s okay to cut yourself a break. Being a mom sometimes is tough enough.
Give yourself permission to be compassionate with yourself. You may want to take a moment to sit and gather your thoughts. Sometimes writing them all down and doing a brain dump helps. It helps to get all the thoughts and things to do out of your head onto paper. Doing so helps to clear your mind of the clutter. Then you can take a look over the list and sort through the items as actions, thoughts, noise and then prioritize them.
The best advice I was ever given when I went back to working full time, leading a team and worrying about my daughter in daycare, etc.… was to be compassionate with myself.
I was lucky and had a coach to tell me this. I’ll admit, it’s taken me a long time to learn it and do it. It’s good to remember that I am only human, and I can only do my best. Some days are better than others and that is ok. I’m a recovering people pleaser and perfectionist so trust me this isn’t always easy!
It’s important not to let our inner self talk or inner critic get the best of us. The way we talk to ourselves plays a role in our self-confidence and well-being.
It’s okay to cut yourself a break and be compassionate with yourself.
