My Success Approach
This is the approach I generally take:
- Define what success means to me
- Visualize what success would look like to me
- Identify what I want to achieve
- Create personal goals that align with the items above
- Ask, what actions would I need to take
- What skills do I need to develop or learn?
- Is there information on the topic available?
- Are there courses or conferences coming up?
- Who do I need to network with?
- Where could I practice and further develop my skills?
- What do I need to stop doing, continue doing and start doing?
- What habits do I need to create, shift or stop?
- Make decisions
- on events to attend, course to take, people to reach out to
- Break goals down into tasks
- Plan and schedule the time for the work
- Decide what I need for support
- Define how I will hold myself accountable
- Take Action & do the work

Habits for Success
What habits do you have that help you achieve success?
First, what is a habit? Merriam-Webster defines habit as: a settled tendency or usual manner of behavior or acquired mode of behavior that has become nearly or completely involuntary.
Many of us have daily habits. Some habits may set us up for success and others many not. The key is to identify and create habits that are helpful and contribute to our success. Below is a list of some habits you may have or want to create.
- Morning Routine
- Meditation practice
- Journaling or writing Morning Pages
- Gratitude practice
- Working out at the gym
- Daily scheduled time to tidy the desk
- Planning time so you know what needs to be done for tomorrow
