What do you need?

We often don’t stop to ask ourselves this question. Are my needs being met?

Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs

Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs is a theory in psychology. In his model there are 5 stages of needs.

  1. Physiological needs (food, water, air)
  2. Safety (safe from the natural elements or threats; shelter)
  3. Love & Belonging (need to give and receive affection and has a sense of belonging in a family or be part of a community)
  4. Esteem or respect (respect for yourself and from others)
  5. Self- Actualization (personal growth or fulfillment)

Maslow states that the base needs need to be met in order to rise to the level of self-actualization.

Quickly assess yourself.

Are my needs being met?

What could be done to improve them being met?

What do you need to communicate to others to have them met?

What do you need to do for yourself to get your needs met?

Have you reached self-actualization?

What do I most need to do for myself?
