Reflecting back & Planning ahead

thoughtful young woman

Have you started to think about what you want to be doing in the new year?

What you want to learn?
Where you want to grow?
What you want to change?

This is the time when I start to think of these things. I also like to take a few moments and think about the past year.
What went well?
What didn’t?
What lessons did I learn?
What do I what to do differently?
What should I stop, continue or should start to do?

I don’t just do this from a work perspective but in all areas of my life. Then I can start to decide what next year may hold.

Do you have a practice like this? What do you do?

Avoiding holiday frenzy

The holidays are fast approaching. What are you doing to keep your peace of mind and stay out of frenzy?

Here’s are five tips:
1. Block or leverage your time to manage things in small steps or groupings.

2. Prepare your shopping list ahead of time. Don’t just go shopping and waste all day looking for things and not actually getting anything done.

3. Be strategical when you go out. Try to go to the places close together around the same time to avoid wasting additional time in traffic or money on gas.

4. Don’t try to do everything and be all things to all people. It’s the perfect way to set yourself up.

5. Take breaks. Practice self-compassion and enjoy the moment.

Remember it’s the thought that counts.  When in doubt, just say no. It’ll be one less thing you’ll have to do or worry about.

Most important is to remember to breathe and take care of yourself.

Thanksgiving

What are you thankful for this Thanksgiving?

I am thankful for so many things. I am thankful for my family. My daughter brings such a fun perspective to things. She’s always so full of energy, music, and spunk. She’s a free spirit. I love that about her. I am thankful for my husband and his family. I am thankful for my Mother and my siblings families. My nieces are all growing up so fast and I’m thrilled for my new nephew.

I am thankful that we all have our health and for the most part are a pretty happy bunch. I am thankful for my coaches who push me and hold my vision for me. I am thankful for my former team and team mates as I have learned from all of them and have become a better leader as a result. I am thankful for my friends.

I am thankful for my clients who have allowed me to work with them and help them further themselves on their on path of being the leader of their life.

Happy Thanksgiving!
